Sittin' Up

Life looks a lot different from this angle, and I think I like it.... Jude's been spendin' much more time sittin' tall these days. We're hoping the patch of missing hair on the back of his head fills in soon.

Bobbin' For Apples

Thanks to our friends in Florida, we have been receiving monthly shipments of organic fruits. Jude has been enjoying slices of Granny Smiths. The cool apple feels great against his swollen gums - we think teeth will be popping through any day now.

Weekend of Rememberance

In times of sorrow it's wonderful to have such a loving family. Grandpa Hartter passed away on February 9, 2008- shortly after his 98th birthday. Presidents Day weekend we were able to fly home to attend his funeral and to celebrate all of the great memories we shared. The eulogy was beautiful; Larry, Michael, and Joel were all able to share their fondest memories of Grandpa Lawrence. We can only hope that we will be able to live a life as full and blessed as Grandpa.


















The funeral took place around South Bend, Indiana. We flew into Grand Rapids and were able to spend a bit of time with the Retsema / Rycenga clan. This weekend we were also able to say our final good-byes to Princess Rubi and Mr. Velvet Ears Hoover; they both passed away shortly after we returned to New Hampshire. We will miss the squirrel-chasing and Lake Michigan swimming pups.

Weekend with Uncle D.

It was another splendid weekend with Uncle Dave. We were lucky to have him come Friday after his business in Rhode Island was through. Friday, Joel and Dave got a chance to go snowshoeing by moonlight. On Saturday, Jack went splashing around in the ocean off of New Castle.

My Friend Ben

Jude loves his friend Benjamin. It was over a month since they last got to see each other. At that time they were about the same size.... now, Ben has passed Jude in height and weight. Perhaps, Jude will take after his parents afterall.

Jude often gets to play with his neighbor Evan. There is only 2 weeks difference in age. It's fun to see them grow together!

98 Years Young

The Hartters definately have longevity in their genes. We celebrated Great Gramp's birthday a little early this year. The actual date is Feb. 1.
