Memorial Day Extavaganza

This year, for Memorial Day, we met the Caswell's up in Maine for a picnic at the beach. We met on Cape Elizabeth at Crescent Beach. Despite the near 70 degree temperatures, the kids could not keep out of the water. The day was beautiful....we couldn't have asked for better weather.

"Thing 1" and "Thing 2" play so well together....

After watching Uncle Jud skip stones...Jude had to give it a try!

Jud got a chance to write a bit in his journal.

Big Day

Saturday we had a busy day. In the morning we took a trip to the Children's Museum. Jude had a great time with the trains once again. We purchased a family membership for the year. We'll all get to explore more throughout the year. After Jude's nap we took a look at a few more houses. We found one that we fell in love with. We're keeping our fingers crossed, but so far so good. Once again, we're under contract. This time our inspection seemed to go through flawlessly.

Thursday, Joel skipped out of work early so that we could enjoy a hot afternoon at the beach...

Mission Accomplished

While trying to prepare Jude for the coming of his new brother, I took it upon myself to find a baby stroller and baby doll for Jude. As I started the search, I quickly realized that it's almost impossible to find baby dolls in the boy version. It's also nearly impossible to find strollers that come in any color other than pink or purple. My search finally lead me to Craigslist. Jude loves taking his new baby on walks....especially if it involves taking the keys and going up to get the mail.

The Wheels Keep on Turnin'

Jude loves to line his cars up. He groups the cars together based on when he got them. If the cars came in a pack of 5, they always stay grouped in the original 5. I'm not sure how he keeps it all straight in his little head.

Fork

As of late, Jude has started asking for a fork with his meal. Whatever gets this picky eater to eat...we're all for it!

Mother's Day Weekend

This year we were lucky enough to be able to spend Mother's Day with Grandma and Papa Hartter. Upon arriving on Saturday, we rushed off to the beach to get some much needed R & R.

Sunday, off we went to church and then the men of the house made a wonderful dinner for the mothers.

Flowers For Momma
Such a nice day, we had to get out to the Newmarket playground.....

Monday, Jude got to spend some quality time with Grandma and Papa while Joel and Ray ran some errands. Jude explored Wagon Hill and Emery Farm with his grandparents....later in the day he showed Grandma all of the different colors of chalk.
Tuesday, we headed to UNH campus to check out the horses. Our friends told us to come armed with carrots. (The horses are shocked if anybody under 3 feet tall shows up without treats.)

On the way home we stopped by the playground to soak up the sun-filled air.

Wednesday, we were sad to see Grandma and Papa leave....they got a bit of last minute playing in before they headed out for their long drive home.

Talkin' on the Phone

Many of you have experienced this...when we try to put Jude on the phone, all you here is dead silence.... I'm telling you the truth when I say he pretends to talk on the phone many times throughout the day. He'll pick up random toys and put them to his ear or mine and hold a gibberish conversation. Admittedly, he mostly tries to call his Daddy, with a sporadic call to his grandparents here or there. I finally caught a very short call to his Daddy on video....

Party Weekend

Saturday, we had our first Fieldstone Est. BBQ of the season. Neighbors, Christian and Dan hosted the shindig. Christian made some of his famous homemade ice cream....this week's flavor, coffee oreo. The 3 toddlers got a bit hyped up right before bedtime with the spectacular (non-caffeine-free) flavor.

Checkin' out the fish tank

Sunday, we headed over to the Buck's house to celebrate Eliza's 3rd birthday. Jude was distracted by all of her riding toys. The VW Beetle was his favorite! (Does that mean that he's leaning toward his German heritage rather than his Dutch heritage?)
