Lunch on the Beach

Sunday we took a trip to the beach. Jude likes to eat with a bit of scenery....and we'll do just about anything to get him to eat.

A quick dip was in order after making a mess in some sweet potatoes.

Pasta...That's Not Dutch Cuisine...nor is it German

Who'd have guessed it? Jude can swallow more than just Cheerios and sweet potatoes. We may be on to something here....perhaps he has more refined taste buds. I don't blame him, when is the last time you've had baby food?

Food Refusal

Eat, sleep, and poop.....these are the things that Jude has complete control over. Unfortunately these are the things that he doesn't want to do. For a long while, all he would eat was sweet potatoes....this was our attempt last night to feed him his puree. With his latest visit to the Dr. we found that he had lost some weight in the last month. He's only gained 1 lb. in the last 4 months.

Story Time

After refusing to nap, all Jude wanted to do was kick his feet up and relax to one of his favorite books. He's very particular, his favorite page has a green lizard with scaly skin.

Pump it Up

Dad's bike pump quickly became Jude's coveted object of the day. Isn't it funny that adult items are more interesting than kids toys?

Cooling Off

The day following a night temp. of 104.9, we took a trip to see the Dr.. Jude's only symptom was a fever that had been coming and going for 10 days. He got the full work-up of tests. Jude had a catheter to get a urine sample, chest x-rays, and blood drawn. We're still not sure what was causing his fever, but it seems that he's out of the woods. After the stressful trip to the hospital, we filled the pool and Jude took a dip to bring his temp. down.

Gimmie 5

Poolside

With the temps soring in the 90's over the past 3 days, high humidity, and no A/C, I finally caved in and drove to the nearest Walmart to buy a kiddie pool. (Yes, I feel guilty...but there is a silver lining to this Walmart purchase, it's made in the USA.)

More Giggles

Despite running a slight fever over the last several days, certain things will still get Jude laughing. It's been tough to catch it on camera, but Jude's also starting to wave and clap his hands. (Although clapping looks a bit more like raising the roof, we're still working on it....) He's even given me 5 on more than one occasion.

Y Tri

We were delighted to spend the weekend up in Brunswick/Bath, ME to cheer on Marsey! Mars endured the heat to compete in a mini Tri put on by the Y. She inspired us all...with a mix-up in the swimming, she completed more than the designated distance. The bike ride was long and strong. A huge accomplishment, she ran the entire 5k without walking. (And there were plenty of hills....go Mars!) After the race we celebrated with Indian take-out. And as if the race wasn't enough.. Marsey went to chorus practice in the evening... while we got a chance to watch the girls. Uncle Joel helped them enjoy their Dora slippin' slide.

Thumbs Up! Go Auntie Marsey!

Marsey gave Jude a bath before his big sleep over in Gemma's crib.

Jude's been having a great time with one of his Dad's old toys. (He loves the streamers.)
