7 Months

I can hardly believe it myself.... another month blasted on by. I'm 7 months already and have been changing so much. Let me tell you a few things that I've been up to:

-First and foremost...I love to eat solid food! So far I've tried rice and oatmeal cereals, peas, prunes, pears, squash, and my personal favorite sweet potatoes. It didn't surprise my mom or dad when I downed a whole jar of sweet potatoes in one sitting. I guess my big brother had a thing for sweet potatoes too. I'm already eating 2 meals of solid food and have been wanting to nurse less often.

-As far as sleeping goes...I've been doing better through the night. I've slept all the way through the night many times this month. Mostly though, I'm still waking up 1 time. This feeding is probably my best one of the day because I'm practically still sleeping and not distracted by my brother or anything else that catches my eye. During the day, I've been trying to get my brother and mom on my schedule. I prefer to take 3 naps. It's tough to go on our outings, but hey- I've got some serious growing to do...I need my precious sleep.

-Now that I've been eating so much solid food, my poops have been taking on a more solid form. So much so, that I've been getting a bit backed up. It scares my mom and dad because my older brother has the same problem. Hopefully my digestive tract will regulate soon and I can continue to be a happy-go-lucky kido.

-The world looks wonderful from my new perspective. OK, so I have been sitting up for a little while, but now that's the position that I prefer. I pretty much have refused tummy time. As soon as mommy lies me down on my tummy, I roll right over to my back. From there, I fuss until someone helps me to sit up.

-This month I got to experience sand for the first time. I love, love, love being outside. The beach is awesome!

-I've been packing on the pounds slower lately. I think I weigh around 18 lbs. I'm still sporting the 6-12 month clothes and probably will for some time.

-My gums are still swollen. No teeth yet, but perhaps during month 8?

-When Jack and Jude are around, I'm all eyes. I giggle when daddy throws the ball for Jack. For some reason this just cracks me up. Jude tells me that he loves me all the time. He's constantly giving me hugs...sometimes tackling me to the ground in the process. I LOVE him back!

Here are some photos of Jude trying to crash my photo shoot. Doesn't he know that these photo shoots are supposed to be all about ME!

For some reason he wants to do whatever I'm doing. For real, doesn't he know that he's really the cool one, and that soon I'll want to do whatever he's doing?

See what I mean? Just because I was wearing nothing but a diaper...he had to wear the same exact thing....

I'm beginning to really grasp and reach for objects. The sign telling how many months old I am is really interesting. I really just wanted to check it out..... my mom wasn't letting me though. Here are some of my bloopers....I was having a hard time getting my picture "just right."

Guess Again

Just when we thought that Levi was taking on a look of his own, we took a trip down memory lane. Can you guess who is in the top 3 and who is in the bottom 3?

OK- so maybe the smile gives it away... but you sure can tell that they are brothers!

Eleanor Turns 7

We were thrilled to hear that we were invited to Eleanor's birthday party this year. Jude woke up Sunday morning asking to get dressed and ready for the party!

When we arrived in Brunswick, we took a trip to a local farm. Here we got to learn all about sheep. Many of the ewes had just had babies. The lambs were so cute! Very vocal, they were calling for their mommies, and the mommies were calling back. Jude got to hear the baa firsthand.

Eleanor got to hold the youngest lamb...just a couple of days old.

Jude took a turn on the swing, something that he usually has no interest in... I think he just wanted to be like his oldest cousin.

Eleanor got to open a few gifts before we went to her official party.
Mostly from Auntie Joey...she got her first American Girl horse. A palomino, just like Grammy's Pride of Beechwood.
Mars and Jud got her the matching doll, complete with boots and britches.

Eleanor's choice for a party- big ball bowling at Spare Time. What a fantastic idea, the party was a blast!

Eleanor's other cousins Bronwin and Tristan also got invited to the party....

Jude had guessed there would be chocolate cake. He must know his cousin's tastes.... Chocolate and chocolate, Eleanor's favorite!
All good things must come to an end. Levi and Jude both went about the day without naps. They fared well, but crashed on the way home.

Starting Herbs

It's that time of year to get our garden started indoors. With all of the time that we'll be spending away from NH this summer, we're not sure how much we should plant. One thing that we want to be sure to have is our herbs. Joel was teaching Jude how to sow seeds....

Levi was on quality control....

Jack was the on top of the final inspection....
